THE prepared frozen dessert market is hotting up and heading the market this month with a fresh
new idea is Auckland icecream maker Ginelli’s. The company has produced a unique twin-pack
combination dessert – two single serves of a dessert in the one package.
The 250g twin packs – one on each side of the single package – have beautifully presented layered
desserts made up of icecream, sorbet and gelato. The two different twin packs on offer have four
interesting variants. In one pack, there’s Frutti Bellisimi and Dolce Vita flavours. And in the other,
there’s the favourite Tiramisu and a Lemon de Sorrento.
Each twin pack has two single serves making it a great quick, tasty and quality dessert with the triple combination
in each layered horizontally and vanilla or chocolate cake on the bottom – quite a hard feat in the icecream business.
The idea of the clear packs with a colourful outer was the brainchild of Ginelli’s general manager and owner
Max Tairi who has been working on the technically difficult project for some time. There has already been interest
in the idea from the hospitality trade and it is expected to gain a strong foothold in the retail market.
